International Women’s Day Celebration 2010
A film screening and discussion on WOMEN & ENTREPRENUERSHIP@ Sinema Old School
To mark International Women’s Day, the award winning Israeli film “Aviva, My Love” is being screened. The film celebrates entrepreneurship among women.
After the film, there will be a panel discussion on women and entrepreneurship in Singapore and the challenges facing women post 2010.
About the Film:
The film is a richly layered story about one woman’s furtive dream of becoming a successful writer as she works as a cook in a hotel kitchen to support her unemployed husband. She is also raising her 2 teenage children, caring for her obstinate unpredictable mother and counseling her spirited sister through a troubled marriage. Winner of 6 Israeli Academy Awards and Winner in the Plaque Film Competition in the Chicago International Film Festival.
