Want to find out community research needs on the ground?
The inaugural WeSearch! Seminar will focus on “Social Action Across Divides”, which broadly comprises forms of social action and community service that aim to bridge the real and artificial divides between different demographic and social groups in Singapore.
PROF. CHUA BENG HUAT of the NUS Sociology Department to share his perspectives and insights on community research to support social causes in Singapore, and seven local NGOs pitch their social research needs to you: AWARE (women’s issues), COM.PASSION.SG (local poverty), H.O.M.E (migrant issues), PROJECT X (sex work), THE ONLINE CITIZEN (community issues and social inequality), THINK CENTRE (human rights and civil society) and TWC2 (migrant issues)!

WeSearch! is an independent youth research initiative that aims to connect youths interested in practical, action-oriented community research with civil society organizations requiring research support.
WeSearch! is motivated by the desire to provide an open platform for students in tertiary institutions and beyond to engage in meaningful and practical research, providing them the opportunity to hone their research skills, gain a better appreciation of the scope of applied social research, and encourage direct involvement in the local community.
