A Journey to the Top of the World
On May 19th, 2012, Valerie Boffy successfully summited Mount Everest.
In doing so, she fulfilled a lifelong dream, and became the 6th French women to have ever accomplished such a feat. Only 20% of the ones attempting to climb Mt Everest succeed.
Valerie will share her passion, her motivation, and what inspired her to take on such a monumental challenge. She will recount the story of her astonishing climb to the Top of the World, and how she prepared, physically and mentally for this grueling journey.
Climbing Mount Everest was a very personal call for Valerie. She dared to dream bigger, than she had ever dared to dream before. In doing so, she combined her passion for a very special humanitarian cause, the plight of women from war-torn regions, by supporting Women for Women International
This non-profit organization provides women survivors of war, civil strife and other conflicts with tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self sufficiency.
During this talk, Valerie will recount the story of her astonishing climb the top of the World, and how she prepared, physically and mentally for this grueling journey. She will share her passion, her motivation, and what inspired her to take on such a monumental challenge.
