Here is more information on the Drama Workshop on Sunday as part of the Youth Weekend: Drama/art workshop – SDEA (10am – 5pm) Our work will focus on: Iconographic sensitivity and awareness: Public Images of Women The 6-hour workshop explores how images affect the way we see, think and talk about ourselves as people and as women. The workshop is guided by several key questions, resulting in a collective reflection and creation of an art and performance piece at the end of the workshop. The key questions are: What are the different images of women present in the public domain? Are we satisfied with the way women are perceived and represented? Are there messages or concepts of womenhood that are presently missing, under-represented or not considered within the public domain? If so, what are they and what can do we do about it? Methodology: Drama story-telling, movement and visual arts. Final presentation: Compilation and creation of collective story and visual arts representing images of women as articulated by the participants 10am - 1pm: Workshop 1 -2 pm Lunch 2 - 5pm: Workshop Plenary session (5-6pm) *** Challenge and be challenged.
