Helpline callers who present problems which cannot be adequately addressed during telephone counseling are encouraged to attend face-to-face counseling. During a counseling session, clients are given space to work through their emotions and helped to gain clarity in their thought processes. |
Helpline callers and occasionally walk-in clients who have more complex legal issues are referred to the Legal Clinic. The Legal clinic is held on the second Thursday of every month. |
Helpliners and Befrienders receive rigorous training before they come into contact with clients. Helpliners undergo 51 hours of classes and a minimum of 24 hours of supervised practicum. Befrienders undergo 36 hours of classes and site visits. |
