Singapore 's Women's Rights All-Stars Converge for the Launch of AWARE's latest book Print E-mail
Monumental book, SMALL STEPS, GIANT LEAPS: A HISTORY OF AWARE AND THE WOMEN'S MOVEMENT IN SINGAPORE was launched today at East Coast Park in conjunction with International Women's Day 2007. The book, published by the Association of Women for Action and Research (AWARE), looks at the history of the women's rights movement in Singapore, both pre- and post-AWARE and was edited by Mandakini Arora.

CEDAW Shadow Report to be Released by AWARE Print E-mail

“Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW)” - Embargoed

AWARE’s second shadow report is released. It will be presented at the 39th Session of the UN CEDAW meeting in New York in July 2007. Constance Singam, President of AWARE, and Braema Mathi, Chair of the AWARE CEDAW Committee, will be presenting the Shadow report at the briefing at the AWARE Center.

AWARE is organizing a public forum, in partnership with Action for AIDS (AFA). The forum aims to educate and disseminate factual information about HIV/AIDS and STIs, while dispelling myths related to their transmission, detection and prevention. The focus is on women and how they can protect themselves.
