Sub-committee on Sexual Harassment in the Workplace The AWARE Sub-Committee on Sexual Harassment in the Workplace (SH subcomm) was formed in March 2007 to undertake a study on awareness, opinions and attitudes of sexual harassment in the workplace in Singapore. The project is based around a public survey that was first initiated in 2005 by the Youth @ AWARE group, building upon an adviser’s (Margaret Gremli) questionnaire. The 2007 project has refined, updated and built on this earlier survey, and will use it to gather information on sexual harrassment, leading to a report on the issue. The main objectives of the project include: 1) Raising public awareness about SH in the workplace, and offering recommendations on legal recourse based on Singapore’s existing laws and legislation – the study will be distilled into relevant messaging and public materials for public and media outreach to inform and educate; 2) Effecting attitudinal change about SH in the workplace – the study will be used to develop training for audiences such as companies seeking to improve their corporate practices, for AWARE members, for use in AWARE helpline work, etc
