What is The WHITE RIBBON CAMPAIGN (WRC)? The White Ribbon Campaign (WRC) - first started in Canada in 1991, is an International campaign organised by men to stop violence against women. It is organised in approximately 47 countries worldwide. The WRC is the largest effort in the world of men working to end men's violence against women. It relies on volunteer support and financial contributions from individuals and organizations. Each year from 25 November to 6 December, a white ribbon is worn to make public a personal commitment to zero tolerance for violence against women. Wearing a White Ribbon is a personal pledge never to commit, condone nor remain silent about violence against women In Canada, men and boys are urged to wear a ribbon for one or two weeks, starting on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
