In Her Own Write (IHOW), a 3-day stimulating workshop organised by the AWARE Training Institute, is an intensive writer's workshop that intends to hone one's writing and analytical skills and increase one's understanding of the media and its evolving role in society. Held on 13,14 and 21st July, its guest speakers included leading journalists and media experts. "Learning useful tips on writing effective letters certainly made my participation at the In Her Own Write (IHOW) workshop worthwhile. I also learned about the rights of people in the workplace, stereotypes in the media, what happens in a newsroom among many other things. We even did an enjoyable and creative role play of some problems women face! This is a workshop that brings to light many women's issues, issues I was hardly aware of. I hope there will be another IHOW workshop next year! If you want to learn to write well and be empowered at the same time, attend the next IHOW workshop!"
