Founder of the White Ribbon Campaign, Dr Michael Kaufman, was in Singapore from Feb 9th to 12th 2006 to conduct workshops, give talks and meet youths to share his expertise and share his experiences. Dr. Kaufman has worked extensively within the UN system and trains for government ministries and corporations on issues concerning sexual harassment at the workplace as well as other workplace gender issues. A motivator, academic and trainer, Dr Kaufman has worked towards ending violence in families through the White Ribbon Campaign (WRC).
Public Talk: “Are Men Really Aggressive? Building Harmony in Families” Attended by 60 Men & Women One day Workshop: “Men Making a Difference” Full Day Workshop for Men & Women from diverse backgrounds like social workers, academics, or community leaders, religious leaders or teachers.
Teachers’ Workshop: “Nurturing SNAGS in the Classroom” Half Day Workshop focused on how to develop students in schools and colleges to being committed to being champions of non-aggression in their present and future families Students’ Workshop: “Encouraging Gender Equality & Developing Better Relations between the Sexes” Half Day Workshop for Students to educate and raise awareness among students about the related issues.
Police Workshop: “Nature & Causes of Men’s Violence and Developing Effective Strategies to end violence against women” Half day. 50 police officers attended at Police HQ. |
