Volunteer
“You must be the change you want to see in the world.”
Mahatma Gandhi, Indian political and spiritual leader (1869 – 1948)
AWARE is where it’s at today because of the care and commitment of thousands of volunteers over the last 24 years. These thousands of women, and quite a few men too, have helped to:
- Run the Helpline
- Carry out research and conduct surveys
- Organise and implement campaigns
- Raise funds
- Give talks and run workshops
- Develop, install or improve IT systems and websites
- Provide legal advice
- Photograph and film events
- Provide marketing and PR advice
- Write and edit reports, journals and books.
Some have volunteered regularly for years; others have only been able to contribute occasionally. Every one of them has been essential to AWARE’s work.
As we move towards our second quarter century of research and advocacy, public education and direct services, our need for volunteers continues.
How to volunteer
- Register in the AWARE database here
- Once you are registered click “volunteer” and fill in your skills and interests
- We will contact you from time to time with relevant opportunities
We look forward to your help with AWARE’s work!
