Rape is a crime of violence and can be highly traumatic to the victim. It can take weeks, months, even years, to get over the trauma of such a crime.
If you have been a victim of sexual assault, please know and believe this: You have done nothing wrong. It is not your fault.
During the process of surviving rape and sexual assault, it is normal to experience anger, fear, shock, denial and confusion. Healing will take time and courage, but you do not have to go through this experience alone. We understand that it is not easy to recover from sexual assault, and we are here to help you as you recover.
AWARE provides the following specialised services to support victims and survivors of sexual assault.
All calls and cases are kept strictly confidential.
Counselling and Case Management
Many sexual assault victims have found it helpful to talk to a counsellor. AWARE’s counsellors have the experience and sensitivity needed to support sexual assault victims. They will provide follow-up care counselling to victims of sexual assault. All support is provided on a strictly confidential basis.
The price of counselling is 1% of your monthly salary per session. For those not working the charge is $10 per session.
Counselling can be conducted at the AWARE’s office or via Zoom on weekdays (daytime and evenings).
